What is Art Paws?

Art Paws celebrates pet independence at Artown

Dogs will frolic along the Truckee River, get their paws read by pet psychics, and admire their own animal art at Artown’s 14th Annual Art Paws, Sun July 20, 10am to 5pm. Special features this year will include wine tasting, courtesy of l’uva Bella Wine Gallery, a bona fide beer garden, pet contests, and live music.

Art Paws 2011More than 100 local vendors have come together to celebrate all that is canine at Artown’s 14th Annual Art Paws. Let them experience the wind behind their fur. Savor the joy of gourmet everything in the company of friends. Imprint their immortal soul on canvas. Gaze into a crystal ball with the aid of a psychic.   And have doggie fun!  Art Paws is Artown’s “Only Bring Your Dog Day!”

As the only canine-friendly festival in Artown, Art Paws features products and services designed to uplift the canine mind, body, and soul – and help animals in need.  All proceeds from the event will benefit local non-profit pet organizations. Attendees are invited to vote at Art Paws to determine which three local animal-aid agencies will garner all this year’s money.

In 2013, the US Wolf Refuge, Boxers and Buddies, and Shakespeare Animal Fund were granted a total of $6,000.

Art Paws occurs during the month of July as part of the 19th annual Artown festival, July 2014. The month-long summer arts festival features more than 400 events produced by more than 100 cultural organizations and businesses in locations citywide, with major funding provided by the City of Reno.
